海外博主TrashBench自制汽車油冷系統,顯卡性能大幅提升

近日,一位名為TrashBench的海外技術愛好者,在個人硬件領域進行了一次大膽的創新嘗試——他成功地將原本應用于大型服務器環境的浸沒式冷卻技術,引入到了個人電腦硬件上。

不同于常見的以礦物油為冷卻介質的做法,TrashBench別出心裁地選擇了汽車變速箱油作為冷卻劑。他精心挑選了一個寬敞的塑料容器,將ROG Strix GTX 1060顯卡的PCB和散熱器妥善安置其中,并通過PCIe延長線與外部主板相連。隨后,他緩緩注入變速箱油,一個初步的浸沒式冷卻系統就此誕生。

為了最大化冷卻效果,TrashBench在容器內部增設了一個潛水泵,以驅動油液的內外循環。熱油被抽出后,經過一個取自道奇汽車的變速箱冷卻器進行散熱,隨后再回流至容器中。這一設計巧妙借鑒了汽車冷卻系統的原理,確保了顯卡的高效散熱。

經過一系列基準測試,TrashBench驚喜地發現,這套浸沒式冷卻系統顯著提升了顯卡的性能。GTX 1060顯卡在游戲和各種測試中表現更加穩定,整體性能提升了約10%,在3DMark測試中更是實現了16%的性能飛躍。這一提升主要得益于顯卡核心頻率的顯著提高,從默認的1886MHz躍升至2190MHz。憑借這一卓越表現,該配置在Fire Strike測試中成功登頂全球排行榜。

TrashBench并未止步于此,他還對另一款1080 Ti顯卡進行了測試。這款顯卡在傳統風冷環境下已經能夠展現出1960MHz的核心頻率,但在變速箱油冷卻的加持下,其頻率進一步提升至2114MHz,性能提升約7%。這一成果再次證明了浸沒式冷卻技術的巨大潛力。

然而,TrashBench也坦誠地分享了實驗過程中遇到的一些挑戰。變速箱油具有較強的滲透性,容易滲透到設備內部的各個角落,給清潔工作帶來了不小的困難,同時也存在污染周圍環境的風險。因此,他特別提醒廣大網友,雖然這種嘗試充滿趣味性和實驗價值,但并不適合普通用戶輕易嘗試。
